Subsea Metrology

Subsea metrology using photogrammetry

Photogrammetry is a method for extracting 3D coordinates and dimensions from images.

Parker Maritime has developed a system that utilizes this technique for subsea metrology. The development started late 1999 and the first system was used early 2000 for an anchor support survey.

Our photogrammetry system has proved its value when accurate dimensions are required subsea.  List of executed projects.

We have developed the technique into

SICAMS® - Single Camera Metrology System

The SICAMS® is a perfect tool for subsea metrology. SICAMS® can be operated by ROV or diver. This metrology system is constructed for depths of 1500 meters, which can be expanded to greater depths.

Advantages

• Millimetre and sub-millimetre accuracy

• Reliable results every time

• Fast mobilization and field work

• Additional dimensions without new field survey

• Same accuracy in all three axis

Applicable area of use

• Structures

• Pipelines

• Spools

• Flanges

• Ship details

• Structure damages

.. in reality – if you can see it we can measure it
